Q: What do you do when your soon to be birthday girl comes to you and says that she wants a pink castle cake with Ariel looking out the window at Prince Erik???? That's not hard is it ;)
A: Search around for a great pink castle cake and tell her that Prince Erik took Ariel to his castle instead...and voila...
...you have yourself a pink castle cake!!
Q: What do you do when she wants to dress-up like a princess but she wants to invite boys too??
A: Make it a Princess/Knight party! Find some fun swords for the boys; I even took it a bit further and painted mustaches on them!
(We even made booths for the royal guests so that as they arrived they could get everything they needed to become a Princess or a Knight! All I did was find some extra large boxes and covered them in butcher paper. Then using a big sharpie and some glue and glitter, I labled them approapriately...)
Q: What do you do for games at a Princess/Knight party?
A: A fun version of Pin the Tail on the Donkey...
...Pin the Fire on the Dragon!
I just used poster board and did my best to draw a dragon...or you could print one out and enlarge it at Kinkos too ;) Then have fun with construction paper to make the fire!
And lastly...
Q: What should I do for decorations without breaking the bank??
A: Find some fabulous tissue paper at the $ store!! I got 60 sheets for $2! Love that $ store!!
To make these fun pom poms what you do is...
Stack 8-10 sheets ofthe same color on top of eachother.
Fold accordion style.
Round the ends with scissors.
Find the middle and tie some flexible wire around the paper.
Separate the tissue paper and fluff...don't worry about the creases staying. It's better when they sort of flatten out.
Tie some fishing line (I found some at Michael's) to the middle and hang!
It sounds complicated, but after the first one, it's not hard at all!!
Q: What do we do when it's all over?
A: S.L.E.E.P.
Much Love,
Kimi
